Huge free car park at the lift station, which also offers a good panoramic view of the Zugspitze as it sits above the rooftops of Partenkirchen. Alternatively start the walk from one of the 4 car parks along the B2 near Gschwandtnerbauer. Consequently arrival at the summit (still using the lift) would be in time for lunch, followed by a 2 hour descent back to the car.
